Why mindfulness? (continued)

Something needed to change. Upon arriving home (and ensuring everyone else did safely, as if I could actually control that!), I reflected on what made me feel
secure and what didn't. My yoga mat was my favorite sanctuary. I went there, sat, practiced, and sat some more. sat. sat. sat.
I did some research and discovered meditation. I started with free guided meditations and explored silent retreats and mantras. It helped me. And so when I was faced with an incredibly life changing event, I leaned heavily into my practice. And I decided I needed to share it. I am now a mindfulness coach and group facilitator. I have a background in yoga and meditation. I am certified through the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto, Canada to facilitate the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program. It is a program for everyone, it is non secular and not woo-woo in any way. It is based on the old traditions including Buddhism, but in a modern easy to understand package. I chose to dive into this format because I wanted something that everyone felt comfortable with. Not one where you had to sit on the floor all day, or one that was stringent and unmoving. The classes are interesting and informed, there is always room for practice and questions. We learn from each other as a group. I hope you will join me one day and discover that slowing down can be the best way to be productive.
Mindfully yours,
Karyn
